The NTI Biosecurity program is partnering with the Next Generation Global Health Security Network to advance the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) and its biosecurity-related targets. In preparation for the 4th Annual High Level GHSA Ministerial Meeting, which will be held in Kampala, Uganda from October 25-27, 2017 they have launched a joint competition to foster a biosecurity professional track within the Next Generation GHS Network.
The proposed competition seeks to develop regional and global partnerships among next generation professionals, while strengthening capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to biological threats. Particular emphasis will be placed on proposals that enhance country and regional capacity to achieve the biological security targets identified within the GHSA and Joint External Evaluation (JEE) frameworks.
The competition is aimed at improving regional and cross-regional collaborations between emerging scholars and students in the health security fields, and promote a global cadre of multi-sectoral participation by the next generation.
The competition deadline has been extended until September 5.
